RECOMMENDED
SMALLEST UNIT
- Q: When
I open an AutoCAD file, CADVANCE always gives me a Recommended
Smallest Unit, different than the Smallest Unit I normally use.
Can I type in a new Smallest Unit?
- A: Yes.
If the value is a fraction and you use 1/1024, you can change the
Smallest Unit to 1/1024 in the 'Options' Box when you open the DWG
file. If the Recommended Smallest Unit is displayed in decimal,
you can use 0.0009765625 which is equal to 1/1024.

REDRAWS
- Q: How
can I speed up my redraws?
- A: Go
to Options / Miscellaneous / Values and set the Screen Arc Generation
to 10. This will redraw arcs at the minimum degree of precision
so redraws are faster. This value is then saved in your
drawing. To set it as the default value for new drawings, you
can File / SaveAs... Cadvance.ini. The information is then saved
in Cadvance.ini for new drawing files.

REFERENCE
FILES
- Q: How do you delete a
Reference File from a drawing in Version 2000?
- A: Go into File /
Reference / Setup. On the far left column, find the reference
file and its path. Delete both the file name and it's
path. The reference drawing will now be deleted from your main
drawing.

- Q: I was trying to open a drawing which is on another machine
on the network. This drawing has a reference file attached which is also located on that
same machine. I get a message, "Cannot find file c:\...(file location on that
other machine)".
- A: The path to the reference drawing is saved in the drawing.
Because you are calling that drawing over the network, the drive letter you are using to
access the drawing is different from what is saved in the drawing. This is confusing
CADVANCE. The solution is to copy that reference file to your hard drive when you wish to
open this drawing."
|
- Q: When
I insert a reference file with spaces in the file name, CADVANCE 99
breaks the file up by the spaces in the filename.
How can I correct this?
- A: Eliminate spacebar
(space) within the filename of the reference file.
Note:
This problem has been fixed in Cadvance2000
